2018 war Deutschland laut UNHCR das viertgrößte
Aufnahmeland für Flüchtlinge weltweit. 2018 haben
161.931 Personen erstmalig einen Asylantrag gestellt.
Damit ging die Zahl der Asylanträge im Vergleich zu
2017 um etwa 18 Prozent zurück und bewegt sich nun
wieder auf dem Niveau von 2014. Grund für die
sinkenden Zahlen ist unter anderem die stärkere
Sicherung der EU-Außengrenzen seit 2016.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
